JUBAN's Masterpiece (Botong's apprentice)

Salvador Tolentino Juban (16 November 1941) became an assistant to Carlos "Botong" Francisco thus he paints the same subjects as "Botong." Compared to the maestro, he makes use of bolder lines and a more spontaneous approach. He also assisted Vicente Manansala in his murals for the Philippine Heart Center for Asia and the United Coconut Planters Bank. He has done murals for the different private and public institutions.

Juban got his early training in art under National Artist Carlos "Botong" Francisco. He was an art scholar at the University of Santo Tomas from 1969 to 1973. He assisted Botong's with his piece Bulwagang Maharnilad. He also continued and finished his master's 18ft by 200ft mural for former first lady Imelda Marcos

He also worked with National Artist Vincente Manansala for the murals for the Philippine Heart Center for Asia and the United Coconut Planters Bank. He traveled around Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, China and Hongkong) in order to learn the art of his Asian counterparts. click on the link below  to view some of his paintings
